Pray for the People of Manila!

The city of Manila is home to more than 15 million people from all walks of life. Urban poor, students, middle class, and professionals live and work in this sprawling mega-city. The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention is committed to reaching mega-cities around the world, and IMB representatives in Manila are working together with other Great Commission Christians (GCC) to impact Manila with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Currently the IMPACT MANILA! Task Force is composed of representatives from the IMB's urban poor, national collegiate, professional, and media teams. While all of these teams have developed strategies to reach their specific target groups, we have recognized the urgent need to integrate our approaches into an overall strategy to reach Metro Manila. As a result, the vision of the IMPACT MANILA! Task Force is to facilitate a widespread church multiplication movement that will result in new believers, growing Christians, trained leaders, and reproducing churches within each social strata of Metro Manila.

Your prayers are needed to finish the task that God has given to us. As you pray, God will move among the people of Metro Manila, softening their hearts and leading them to the truth. So, pray! Pray that God will accomplish His purposes in this great city! Pray that He will allow us to witness a church multiplication movement! Pray that lives will be changed for the glory of God!

Typhoons: The Aftermath

Their sons ride a horse to the beach to catch fish for our lunch and dinner. In the evening I walk up to the mountains with them and pray. [more]

Praises and Thanks
Summer 2003 - Number 1
