That is My Prayer Life

Friday November 10, 2006

Do I pray when I receive a text message? When I meet a friend for lunch? When a group gathers together? Do I ask God to guard what I say and make me sensitive to his voice of warning, of control? Do I pray to be kind instead of cruel, gentle instead of harsh, build up instead of tearing down? That is my prayer life.

This month the earth quake came with the sounds and shake Marinduque many times during the night and its aftershock continues to last for three days. I was standing on the road and listening to speaker from the ambulance of the city try to calm the people down by saying that the quake was only intensity 5.2 and there will not be a tsunami.

I went to the mountains of Kilo-Kilo and felt peace because God is with me. I visited one bible study and shared the word of God and asked the people to pray. This was the first time they prayed directly to God with no intermediary. Then I went to a village called Barra on a small trail located higher than Kilo-kilo to attend a funeral of a 91 year old. I had a chance to share Christ with the men in the funeral.

I was not able to go to Masbate due the super typhoon. A big tree fell into my house and destroyed the gate and part of the roof and rains poured in my house. Even though I hear the report form Masbate that the bible study still continued. I plan to go to Masbate this Saturday and go to bible study there.

I always feels blessed to be able to serve God among the unreached people of Masbate and marinduque.

Please pray for my friend in lucena who will have her second chemo this Sunday. Her name is Teresing Alquiros. She just celebrate her 75 birthday this Saturday.
