An Open Door"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." -- Revelation 3:20 Once a week, I go to a village called Tagwag to witness. Tagwag is in the Marinduque province on the southern tip of the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The traditional religion is mixed with a belief in the spirits, and many in the village worship idols and their relics. Recently, one of the men in the village died, and his brother in-law, who is a born-again believer from California, returned to the Philippines for the funeral. Filipinos frequently hold a wake for the dead, which can last several days. Each night a time of worship and reflection is held. The brother-in-law was seeking a born-again pastor to hold a worship service in the home during the wake. The people in the village introduced him to me. I attended the worship service and read from John 14. We sang together, and I had opportunity to tell those gathered of God’s love for them and to share the plan of salvation. That night, two of the deceased’s children accepted the Lord. In an area where less than two percent have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God is opening the door for His message to be heard. Pray that:
